We’ve had a few very busy weeks and so this week there’s a slight lull, but we still have an interesting selection for you. We’ll start with the larger scales and from Hobby Design we see many detailing sets from relatively simple etched sets for Revell and Fujimi kits to a comprehensive transkit to convert Tamiya’s Porsche Carrera GT into a Gemballa Mirage. There are new plastic kits from Fujimi with Fiat Abarth, Ferrari and BMW subjects and more plastic kits from Aoshima include and AMG Mercedes and fabulous looking Group 5 Nissan Skyline. |

In 1:43rd there is the first of two Mors kits from Mach One Models. This one offers the 1902 land speed record winner and there are Grand Prix versions coming. From Luxcar there is a new hand built Bugatti subject, a smart Type 49 cabriolet and LP Creation have produced two more of their hand painted wooden body formers, both representing iconic sports racers, the 1958 Ferrari 250TR and the Maserati ‘Birdcage’. |

There are plenty of die-casts this week, with Mattel Hotwheels Elite taking a slight diversion from the usual Ferraris with the addition of Lamborghini. From Minichamps we see F1, Le Mans and touring car subjects. Reve Collection (made by Spark) continue their Tyrrell history with two more versions of the P34 and from Spark there is a typical amount of variety, with an Abarth road car, a number of F1 cars and Le Mans subjects classic and modern including this fabulous looking Lola-Judd. |

This weekend of course sees the start of the F1 season and things are going to be very interesting indeed. First free practice suggests that the new teams may struggle a little but we’ll know for sure in qualifying on Saturday and the race on Sunday. With at least six drivers with a serious chance of the title at the start of the season, plus a few wild cards, we can’t wait for it to all get started on Sunday. |
