Jaguar C-Type Sebring 1953 Johnston/Wild by K & R Replicas
We see plenty of Jaguar subjects as raced in Europe but here we have a pair of kits offering significant American racing versions. XKC007 was one of the first pair of C Types sent to America and en route to Californian Jaguar distributor Chuck Hornburg it was raced at a number of venues by Phil Hill, who won at Elkhart Lake. The next car to arrive with Hornburg was XKC010 and this car, finished in silver, come third at Sebring early in 1953. The kit parts are K&R’s familiar, well proportioned castings and we know from past experience that they build well. The wheels are cast however, so we’d be changing these to BBR items (BBRR32).

About K & R Replicas
Well cast and easy to build, if rather crude, metal kits. Usually accurate though occasionally a bit odd. Wire wheels of the self - assembly type. Decals, when included, often slightly yellow (typical of many English makers) but will bleach with exposure to u.v. light. Now including a little more photo-etch. Made in England.
