Limited editions
Axel’R are continuing with their search for unusual sports car subjects and are soon to offer a very limited edition hand built of the Elva Mk8 driven by Chris Amon in the 1965 Tourist Trophy.
Only 40 will be made, half for Elva Racing Components and the other 20 numbered pieces for you if you’re fast enough! Amon qualified the historic Team McLaren run car in 7th place at Oulton Park and during practice broke Jim Clark’s outright lap record and took over six seconds off the sports car record! Order now for this rare piece, ref VHCK022M.

1:12th F50!
Just as we were closing for press we learned of Tamiya’s latest exciting project. A 1:12th scale model of the Ferrari F50 will be produced with a high level of detail visible through opening panels. The model will come semi-assembled with most of the hard work done and will be a limited edition so hurry if you don’t want to miss out.

In addition to our occasional market sections in FSW, we are now running a constantly updated ‘Sale’ page on www.grandprixmodels.com .
Keep checking regularly, because in addition to the ‘Last stock’ bargains usually on offer we are now including those rare and juicy subjects that occasionally appear at GPM.
Recently we were fortunate to buy a collection of Ferrari kits and an assortment of sought after hand builts. Don’t miss out......

Bathurst 24 hours
One of the world’s greatest racing circuits, Mount Panorama at Bathurst in Australia is best known for the annual 1000km Touring Car race which takes place in October. That may be about to change.
The weekend of November 15-17 saw the inaugural running of the Bathurst 24 Hours. The race was won by the V8 Holden of Steven Richards (some things don’t change at this circuit after all!) and following behind was a wide assortment of machinery including GT3 Porsches, Subarus, Mitsubishi Lancers, Ferrari 360, Mosler (see David Blumlein’s article on p23) and a wealth of BMW’s. This latter group included ex-GPM staffer Matthew Marsh, who shared driving duties in the Sterling Motorsport M-Coupe which finished an excellent 5th overall and 1st in class.

With a slight move of date next year to make the race more convenient for European-based teams this event looks like it’s going to grow and with many spectacular liveries on cars that already exist in model form there are some great modelling opportunities. So come on manufacturers, how about it?

2002 Bentley goes 1:24th
Rumours have been circulating for some time that Le Mans Miniatures might be producing the Bentley EXP Speed 8 as a resin kit. It’s true. Due very soon, the kit will be to the usual high quality of parts we expect from LMM. Available either in plain resin (LMM4068) or pre-painted (LMM4068PP) the kit will feature an opening door to show off the interior detail and should make a spectacular model of the 2002 Le Mans class-winner.
In addition to the Bentley, LMM are also hard at work on several Porsche 917s from the 1970 race, including two long-tails and the Gulf-Wyer short-tailed machines. The latter will feature open drivers side doors and a figure.
Line by line
Following an exciting season in the World Rally Championship, which finished with a real cliff-hanger featuring two of the sports rising stars on Rally GB, there are lots of new models in the pipeline..... Racing 43 have announced that they will be making Solberg’s winning Subaru from Britain, as well as the ‘RS’ Focus used by Duval and Martin this season and the works cars of McRae and Sainz from Kenya..... Tamiya are also joining in with 1:24th plastic kits of the 2002 Subaru, Peugeot and Mitsubishi..... still in 1:24th scale BBR are producing limited edition kits (100 each) of the JMB Ferrari 360 from Le Mans..... K&R Replicas are reworking their 1951 C Type to include more detail and it will now have a metal body instead of resin...... Marsh Models say that their Shadow DN4 and ‘Mornin Afta’ Autocoast Ti22 are imminent..... also expected by the end of the year is Scale Racing Cars’ Brabham BT49...... Competition 43 are on a serious Jagermeister binge with models coming of a 1978 Camaro, 1981 Kremer K4 and Opel Commodore among other orange subjects.... Starter are producing hand built versions of several more 2002 Le Mans cars including the spectacular looking Morgan..... MCM should soon have available kits and hand builts of the 1934 Le Mans Rileys and 1923 Bugatti T23.... Provence Moulage are continuing their range of hand built CPA subjects with a Pegaso, 2 Gordinis and Jaguar C type among others, they are also giving the high detail superkit treatment to the 1978 Le Mans winning Renault A442B..... the official ACO Le Mans annual is due any day and the price will be less than previous years at £35 (post free UK)..... great news for European race fans, we may have lost Rockingham and Lausitz from the CART calendar next year, but they’ll be racing at Spa, Brands Hatch and Estoril GP circuits instead....
