Top
of the left hand side is a fine model of the quite amazing four-wheel-drive
Porsche 959 modified road car which the factory entered at Le Mans
in 1987. MR Collection make this one as their ref MRC130.
The two historic single-seater GP cars below are by MGs Model
Plus range (they have engines!) - ref MGMP047
- and represent the Maserati 4CLTs driven by Price Bira in the Swiss
and San Remo Grand Prix of 1949. Next comes Mini Racing's Datsun
Violet from the 1980 Safari ref MRA424M. The bulbous Maserati T151
Le Mans below is the 1962 Sebring car of (we think) Chuck Daigh
(see review page 7) - let us know if were wrong - SHMR make
it as ref SHM042
whilst the great-looking Geneva motor show debut Porsche 917 below
the Maser is by a new maker Fast and carries the reference
FAS003.
Imagine the sensation when that beast appeared on the show stand
for the first time!

Top
of the right on our cover this time is Provence Moulage miniature
(ref PM2699) of the strikingly-attractive Jaguar S of Gianni Giudici
- a car which takes Jaguar racing into the new century. The colour
however is not quite right (see story above) whilst that of PMs
Gulf Porsche 917 (ref PM2655) below may also be slightly the wrong
shade. The high-detail 1:12th scale Ferrari F1 2001 below looks
right however and this is a 1:12th scale kit by MG in their Model
Plus range - ref MGMP1210. The Chequered Flag garage Lancia Stratos
in the lower right hand corner is an excellent new model by Arena
- (ref ARE214) - and represents the car of Irish star Billy Coleman
from the Ypres rally of 1978 where he finished 6th.
