| Alfa
T33 project |
| Valerio Barnini,
having just about modelled every Abarth there ever was, is now turning
his attention to the story of the Alfa Romeo T33 sports-racers. It
appears that Valerio intends to model every variation of the cars
in the period 1967 to 1975. First results of this significantly important
new model series should begin to appear in June. |

| Original Miniatures
- the kit creation company that seeks out unusual subjects for its
1:43rd range is making an unusual and colourful Citroen Dyane (seen
above) raced by Formula One ace Jean Behra in 1978 on the Mille Pistes
rally. They will also release a version of the car as it appeared
on the Monte Carlo of the same year. Also coming from OM are three
Mazda RX7 Le Mans and three Citroen CX 25 estate car kits. |

| Le
Mans model book |
| We're reminding
readers at this early date that if they need the annual Automodelisme
Le Mans model book/magazine - in which every car at Le Mans is given
a full page of reference photos - orders need to be placed with GPM
now. The book is printed only in very limited quantities and sells
out as soon as it is published. It is essential therefore that we
order the quantity you need from us. We can only do that if you order
really early - over to you........ |

Gulf Audi |
 |
| Provence Moulage
are modelling the very pretty Gulf-liveried Audi R8 Spider (see above)
which ran to an excellent 4th overall in the recent Sebring 12-Hours
and which will race at Le Mans where the driving team is set to include
Johansson and Gounon. Also included in PM's May listing is the very
attractive Carrera Panamericana retrospective yellow Studebaker Starliner
which originally raced in 1953 (see photo below). Also new from PM
will be an MG Metro rally car which Ayrton Senna tested, Steve McQueen's
2nd-placed Porsche 908/1 from Sebring 1970, the psychedelic liveried
Porsche 917K from Watkins Glen 1970 and a kit with three decal options
of the Ferrari 312PB from Le Mans 1973. Important reissues from PM
this month include the 1975 Le Mans Calder BMW 3.0 and 1962 Le Mans
Ferrari 250 GTO 'Breadvan'. |

| Le
Mans 2001 is looking good. |
 |
| With a full and very varied grid of 48 cars this year's event should
be a cliff-hanger. Admittedly the works Audis - defending their year
2000 'crown' will be there in force and at the annual test day looked
very strong, but there is competition - some of it durable - from
the likes of Courage, Bentley (see 'Auto Hebdo' photo above) Chrysler,
Cadillac, Panoz and Dome. There are also Reynard-Judds, and Lolas
badged as MGs and to spice up the show Corvettes, Saleens, Vipers
and the usual panzer division of Porsches. It's going to be a colourful
action-packed 24-Hours - well worth being at - and for those who can't
get to the circuit there's always TV and the internet. GPM hope to
have decals on Robin Donovan's Porsche GT3 and GPM people will as
ever be there measuring and photographing the cars - helping make
sure that every single one will be modelled. Follow the great race
if you can - we'll bring you our usual double page of colour shots
of the main cars just as soon after the race as we can - and we'll
feature them all on our web site together with details of who's modelling
what and when............... |
