New 1:43rd resin & metal kit
MM086 Ford C100 Le Mans 1982 #7 - kit £44.05
Elsewhere in the review pages you will find other Ford V8 powered subjects in kit form from Marsh Models. The V8 in the back of the C100 was the Cosworth designed DFL but both the #7 car of Niedwitz/Winkelhock modelled here and the sister #6 car (coming soon as MM094) retired after about 6 hours with electrical problems. There have been models of the C100 before including one from ourselves many years ago but even if you have one of these in your collections it looks like time for an upgrade! Marsh have captured the shape of the car superbly with the resin body and the comprehensive p/e sheets deal with the fine details. The cockpit is a complete p/e tub to which you must fit the metal seat and roll bar, the rear wing support is complete with a bracing tube underneath and the end result will be a very fine model indeed.
New 1:24th resin & metal kit
BER2401 Fiat Abarth 750 Coupe Zagato 1:24 £172.75
Bermat is a new manufacturer to us and this first kit is very impressive. Opening the plain white box reveals a kit which has clearly had a lot of thought put into it and this extends to the internal packaging. The green resin body (cleanly cast by ABC) is in a vacformed blister and small individual parts are bagged in logical groups such as body panels, interior parts, engine components etc. The doors, front luggage cover and rear engine hatch are all separate castings with the front and rear panels being particularly fine and there is a good level of p/e detailing. The instructions are almost entirely in Italian but this shouldn't pose a problem as all of the parts are clearly illustrated and numbered and the assembly process is shown with a series of colour photographs. As well as the model in build shots there are a number of close-ups of the real car. Unlike many high detail kits you won't need to be the world's most experienced modeller to achieve good results either! Our photo only shows a very small number of the kit parts.

New 1:43rd resin & metal hand built

MRC152MB Lamborghini Murcielago 2001 Met Orange - built £132.00
Also available MRC152M - Met Yellow, MRC152MC - Green
Love them or loath them, there's no denying the presence that Lamborghinis always have. We've been eagerly awaiting the Murciallago for some time and MR have done an excellent job of capturing the shape. It is one of those cars that is very colour dependant and we feel that the metallic orange really sets the shape off superbly and would be a great choice when that lottery ticket comes up! The overall standard of finish on this particular model is one of the best we've ever seen from MR, which is high praise indeed. The paint is totally flawless, with a very fine metallic grain, the fit of the windows is excellent and all of the fine detailing has been very carefully applied. If only all hand built models were like this.....
Book of the month
ISBN1902351061 Lotus Type 72, Formula One Icon £39.95

weight 2.5kg by Michael Oliver
With the Lotus 49 being so successful, its replacement was always going to have to be good and after the disastrous 4wd Lotus 63 the Lotus 72 was the car that the team was looking for. It is surprising that this is the first detailed history of this great car which was still winning races four years after its debut and renowned F1 writer Michael Oliver has done a superb job.

The text is clearly written and totally absorbing. The book is packed with photographs, the majority in excellent colour and the layout is very pleasing. Detailed chassis histories are included for each car and we were amazed that in a five year F1 career only nine were built. Great info, photos and annecdotes. A must for all followers of 1970s F1 and Lotus enthusiasts especially.
