BMW M1 Le Mans 1980 Map Of France

£38.00

A colourful selection this month from Competition 43. All of the kits have a reasonable level of detail with well printed decals and some very fine p/e parts. Unfortunately both the M3 and the 840 are plagued with air-bubbles in the resin castings. Those on the M3 are mostly in the base-plate but the body for our review 840 has holes on the roof and a complete front corner of the bonnet missing. If the kits didn't have these bubbles they would be first class. The decals on the M3 have captured the colours superbly so don't be put off by the colour laser copy of the full sized car included in the kit.

Scala 43
Scala 43 - New 1:43rd accessory wheel sets
SCAW047

Minilite 13" wheels 9mm

£8.25

A reasonably well detailed, accurate looking set of wheels with cast metal centres, turned rims and rubber tyres. These wheels are the type used by most rally cars and many saloon racers throughout the 1960's and 70's and will have a vast range of uses.
Scala 43 - New 1:43rd resin and metal kit

SCA080

Alfa Romeo GTAj Gr.2 Street

£38.00

Scala's excellent GTA kit - which we know builds to look superb - - is here offered in 'civilian' guise. The decals included are for white side stripes, large white 'quadrifoglio' logos and the Alfa serpent, also in white.
Scala 43 make a very good range of accessories. Pictured left is their new Quattro Sports rallywheel and tyre which comes as a set of four - ref SCAW055.

......and this example is from set ref SCAW042 which is Audi Quattro Sports wheels and tyres for road car versions.

Ferrari 312T2 Canada 1977 super-kit

£61.40

TMK297

Williams FW08C Donington test 1983 Senna

£28.20

In the absence of modern subjects that it would be economic to model, Tameo have once again turned their attention to historic subjects and they don't come much more significant than the first drives made by two of GP racing's legends. Using the incredible high detail WCT77 kit as a basis the 312T2 represents the F1 debut of Gilles Villeneuve at his home Grand Prix where he was classified in 12th position. With a much lower level of detail but still an excellent kit, the Williams accurately represents the first F1 test car of talented F3 driver Ayrton Senna. Both of these drivers went on to some success.

Fiat Punto Kitcar Ciocco 2000 Press 1:24

£57.50

Two more excellent all metal kits in Racing 43Ěs BIG range. This time the Integrale parts include decals to make the very colourful, Jolly Club run car with which Andrea Aghini finished 3rd in Portugal. The Punto Kitcar is the official works press car finished in white and blue, that was used as a course car on the Italian Ciocco rally. Both kits are absolutely packed with both cast and photo-etched metal high detail and will be great fun to build and decorate.

The hand built models here are very well finished as we have come to expect from BBR. The dayglo red 550 and the red and white FATurbo sponsored BMW are presented in BBR's usual style with the BMW being numbered from 200 pieces. The long awaited F1-2000 is presented in a large display case with a carbon fibre insert and Schedoni leather base. Each piece has a guarantee certificate numbered from 1000 pieces. We know many of you have been waiting some time for this model and at this stage we have only received a small number of our total order. The kit of Michel Ferte's stunning two-tone blue 333 is superbly cast in resin and a dry fit of some of the parts leads us to expect it will be an enjoyable build. The complex paint scheme shouldn't be too much of a chore as BBR have very thoughtfully included pre-cut self adhesive masking and the masking line is then covered by decal stripes. Unfortunately the cars race was very short as it stopped with fuel problems in the second hour. Two of the hand-built models detailed above are pictured in our colour section - the shot of the 2000 World Champion F1 was a failure - sorry.
