Go figure
In a recent conversation with Martin Feldwick at Track Pass he let slip that he is working on several new 1:43rd figures. Nearly ready are various 1950's and 1960's photographers and camera-men, a seated female pit-wall time-keeper from the same era, a modern F1 driver with baseball cap and a current F1 grid-girls wearing just high-heels, so that the Lycra costumes can be painted on!
There are also several well known 1950's F1 personalities including Mike Hawthorn, Peter Collins and Bob Dance who are at the 'head only' stage at present.

Wish Lists
Once again we're seeing one or two of the subjects that we've listed here turning up in manufacturer's schedules, so somebody must be taking notice.

Audi R8 1st Sebring 2004 (pretty!)
Chrysler ME Detroit Show 2004
Lola T333CS Can-Am 1979
March 782 F2
Shadow DN8 1977
BRM P48
Australian V8 Touring Cars
Ford Cobra 2004

Provence Moulage
We mentioned some time ago that PM were intending to offer most, if not all, of their kit releases as hand builts. Initially these were to be in the Starter range but now it seems that this is being kept for subjects such as Le Mans winners and occasional rally cars. A certain amount of rationalisation is taking place of both ranges and this may lead to a little confusion in terms of reference numbers in the short term, but fear not, we will keep track of your backorders!

Hiro status for D50
As we were in the later stages of compiling this issue, Model Factory Hiro's latest releases arrived. Three stunning looking kits of the Lancia-Ferrari D50. As you can see from the photo, these are fully detailed and will make great build projects.

These releases have already prompted several enquiries to ask if there's any chance of a similar kit in 1:43rd? If you're patient Dallari's kit is still available with full engine, or for a faster delivery Renaissance have several versions as kerbside kits. Perhaps Renaissance could be persuaded to offer an engine detailed kit as well, in a similar style to the excellent Alfa 158 & 159s? Etienne? Over to you sir.

Rally round
We mentioned in the last issue that PM were considering making the Hyundai Accent WRC, this has now been confirmed along with the new Mitsubishi and Peugeot 307CC WRC machines.
The release of the Fords and Citroen from the 2004 Monte Carlo Rally is imminent from Racing 43.
In 1:24th scale Renaissance have announced three subjects that will definitely excite. The 1985 Tour de Corse winning Renault 5 Maxi and both the Ford RS200 and MG Metro 6R4. These last two should prove particularly popular.

Racing for Belgium
We are pleased to welcome back Francorchamps Mini Models. This range of 1:43rd kits and hand builts specialises on subjects that compete in Belgium and the majority are from the Spa 24 Hours, though there are also rally cars and machines from the Belcar series. In a large number of cases the kits are based on Provence Moulage parts with Francorchamps' own well printed decals. There are others which are entirely their own production and with very few exceptions the subjects are very vividly decorated. The 2003 Spa-winning Freisinger Porsche can be seen on page 9 and we will bring you other photos as we have them.

Diorama bases
We often mention in reviews that an item would make a great centrepiece to a diorama. If you would like to bring your models to life but aren't sure where to start when creating scenery take a look at l'Eau Rouge's latest mini-displays. There are two sizes available in a variety of styles. The smaller fits into our single display case (HEC002) and the larger sits perfectly in our medium case (HEC005). We are offering the option of either the bases on their own or complete with the cases. Our illustration is of one of the larger ones with (EAUW403C) and without (EAUW403) the case.

...line by line...
Tameo Kits' next kit release will be the Lotus 77, a subject long asked for by many collectors..... you see the manufacturers do read our wish lists and there are still mainstream subjects to fill gaps, especially for F1 collectors..... ABC/Brianza are to make the new Maserati MC12 in 1:43rd, 1:24th, 1:18th and 1:12th scales..... Provence Moulage will make the Daytona 24 Hours winning Doran-Pontiac...... SMTS are close to releasing their revised Lotus 49 kits, this will make many collectors very happy, we're sure..... Silverline are to release the 1977 version of the Brabham BT45B..... with Schumacher winning the first two races of the season, the race is on to model the F2004. Tameo have made the first call but BBR will be close behind..... at time of writing Marsh Models are on the verge of releasing their long awaited Sunoco Porsche 917/30. By the time you read this it will probably be here...... Jade Miniatures are releasing a transkit to convert the Brumm Cooper T53 or T55 to Brabham's T58 from the Nurburgring which was the first race outing for the Climax V-8...... Competition 43 have another kit for Jagermeister collectors in the pipeline, this time a Group 5 Fiat 128 Coupé!...... André-Marie Ruf has re-issued several versions of his classic 250GTO kit...... the entry list is out for Le Mans and it makes for interesting reading. One of the favourites for overall honours must be one of the Audi Sport UK R8s, fresh from victory at Sebring, or could the extra economy of the diesel-engined Lola-Caterpillar cause an upset? The GTS winner will probably be one of the Ferraris that make up 70% of the class entry, but will Colin McRae be in the hot seat? And will Ferrari eventually crack the Porsche stranglehold on the GT class. What is certain is that it will be a competitive race and we will of course be handling all of the models.......
